Weeee! My letter to the editor was published by The Hour and some people read it! I haven’t seen a copy of the paper yet, but I hope the editors didn’t alter my letter too much– the substance oughta remain. I also submitted a book review to Off Our Backs magazine. Perhaps they like it enough to let me make some small edits so they can publish it! Yay
Anyway, regardless of what happens with the book review, at least I have been somewhat activist. Tomorrow (Wednesday, April 2nd), however, I need to return to my SPC (Stop Porn Culture) activism. I am giving a slideshow presentation at Southern CT State University’s Graduate WS conference on April 26th.
I really admire many of the antiporn feminists I’ve been meeting through SPC and the internet. I am lucky that I get to literally HANG OUT with people like Jill (www.oneangrygirl.net), and I was even in the same auditorium as Sam Berg (www.genderberg.com)— I guess I am a dork for being all excited about this, but I like being in communication with really good people. I even got to listen to Andrea Smith speak— if she is antiporn (she probably is) then that’s some more icing on my cake.
